Burton & Rossett Horticultural Society
Burton & Rossett Horticultural Society is a small-but-growing horticultural charity serving the community of Rossett and the surrounding areas of Wrexham and Chester.
BRHS required a website—the first in their 70-year history—including a refresh of their "brand", which I first designed as a teenager 15 years ago!
Branding
The brand is simple-yet-familiar, with a clean, minimalist look. A font script was used as a nod to the original "brand" established in the 1970s. The logo and mark were left black/grey as, when it was developed, the Society did not have access to colour printers.
BRHS Mark
BRHS Logo
The BRHS mark is used on all promotional materials: from monthly talks to special events, leaflets to banners, and has become instantly recognisable to the residents of Rossett village and beyond.
Website
The brief for the new website was: simple, modern and easy to navigate.
The website was designed and built in Squarespace, enabling the BRHS Committee to adapt the content easily in the future. This also means that the site is responsive and secure, thanks to Squarespace's partnership with Let's Encrypt.
The new website is fully responsive: desktop, tablet and smartphone.
I continue to support the Society in updating and maintaining the website on a monthly basis.
Emails
BRHS uses Mailchimp for email marketing, and I designed a number of bespoke templates for use by the Committee, including a Seasonal Newsletter.

Materials
I also regularly design printed materials for BRHS, including:
- Leaflets
- Posters
- Banners / signage
Marketing materials are required for the Society's annual "Special Event", each year featuring a television personality related to gardening. You can see a selection of the materials I have developed over the last four years below.
